An Interpretation of Mechanical Aesthetics Against Victoria Harbour

The dinner was held at Carlyle & Co., offering a panoramic view of the stunning Victoria Harbour. The venue showcased a curated selection of horological masterpieces representing GP’s technical pinnacles across different eras, demonstrating the brand’s continuous exploration of mechanical art. From the structurally stunning Tourbillon Under Three Bridges and the astronomically mysterious Planetarium, to the technologically innovative Neo Constant Escapement and the classic Vintage 1945 and Cat’s Eye collections, every single piece embodied the brand’s dedication to mechanical artistry.

Furthermore, the upcoming novelties from the Laureato collection made their debut at the dinner, offering the guests an exclusive first look.

The Spotlight Novelty: Bridges Collection “Minute Repeater Flying Bridges”

Among the numerous timepieces on display, the ultimate showstopper that astounded collectors was the Minute Repeater Flying Bridges—a grand complication that perfectly harmonizes acoustic and visual aesthetics.

In-House Developed Calibre GP9530: A Tribute to Two Centuries of Complication DNA

This exceptional timepiece is powered by the brand-new Calibre GP9530, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely designed, developed, and assembled in-house by the Manufacture.

Comprising 475 precision components, this skeletonized movement breaks new ground by integrating a minute repeater, a tourbillon, and a newly designed self-winding system equipped with a white-gold micro-rotor. To meet the ultimate aesthetic standards, the assembly and pure hand-finishing of the movement alone require over 440 hours of meticulous craftsmanship from the master watchmakers. This creation pays tribute to the minute repeater function, which has been woven into the brand’s DNA since the 1820s.

Defying Tradition: Redefining Acoustic Resonance and Skeletonized Aesthetics

Departing from traditional designs that hide the chiming mechanisms beneath the mainplate, this watch adopts an unprecedented and innovative mechanical structure. The watchmakers have cleverly revealed the hammers and gongs of the minute repeater on the dial side. This allows collectors to witness the dynamic beauty of the hammers striking the gongs from a first-person perspective when the complication is activated.

The internal structure of the movement has been meticulously optimized to significantly enhance acoustic resonance and transmission, ensuring the chime is crisp, mellow, and richly layered.

Complemented by the signature black “Flying Bridges” structure, the entire timepiece appears as if it is suspended within the sapphire crystal glass, redefining GP’s supreme mastery of haute skeleton aesthetics and sound artistry.
